Drug and Alcohol Policy Statement
The company operates a zero tolerance
approach to the consumption of alcohol and the taking of drugs
other than those prescribed for a medical condition. This is
extended to the taking of drugs purchased over the counter on
condition that the instructions and dosage are strictly adhered
to. A member of management is to be informed of any drugs taken
that may cause drowsiness or affect an operative’s
ability to perform.
Random drug or alcohol tests may be taken
if there are sufficient grounds to suspect there is drug or
alcohol abuse present in any employee. These tests will be
carried out in a controlled environment, with the full
permission of the employee. A refusal to co-operate with the
request to submit to any form of test may be interpreted as an
admission that alcohol or some form of drug has in fact been
taken.
